IGOR MANDIC DISMISSED
25.10.2000: STINA/SAFAX-Zagreb
(Zagreb - STINA/SAFAX) - The Editor in Chief of Vjesnik, Igor Mandic, was dismissed from his position on October 16, and the paper's foreign pages editor Zlatko Herljevic was appointed acting Editor in Chief.
The Vjesnik Supervisory Board found that Igor Mandic did not carry out his managerial duties well, which is illustrated by the fact that the paper was sold in only 7,000 copies.
The president of the 'Vjesnik d.d.' Company, Hrvoje Dusper stated that Mandic during his mandate of a little more than half a year, 'had inaugurated some very good quality newspaper content, but there had been no progress in the market.' The Vjesnik Editor in Chief will be appointed in one month's time, for the first time by public competition.
